Scott Davis Scott Davis received Christ at the age of sixteen on July 10, 1979. He is a graduate of Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia where he attended on a full scholarship for traveling with the Light Singers. While working toward his degree in cross-cultural studies, Scott traveled across the U.S. and to ten foreign countries. Scott’s ministry has continued in the U.S. and abroad since his graduation in 1984. He has taken the gospel of Christ personally and via television to hundreds of thousands of people. He has appeared on Mark Lowry’s videos and has written comedy for Mark while under contract with Word Records. For a year, Scott appeared weekly on the national television show, “The Mark & Kathy Show,” with Mark Lowry and Kathy Troccoli. Along with his weekly appearances, he has been a guest on numerous religious and secular radio and television broadcasts, including an appearance with comedian Dennis Swanberg on “Swan’s Place.”
Today, Scott conducts “GET REAL” national conferences with the nations top speakers and musicians. He also presents music and comedy concert events called “Hope Through Hilarity”. Among others, the ministry of Scott Davis is recommended by Dr. Charles Stanley, Mike Tait of dcTalk, Mark Hall of Casting Crowns, comedian Mark Lowry, and Phil Newberry of Bellevue Church in Memphis. This evening is the service for Camille Crawford.  Camille was a beloved member of Northwest and we mourn alongside her family but also celebrate that she is standing with Jesus as we write!  The service will be at 7:00 p.m. with a meal to follow.  Please bring a dish.  Also, continue to pray for the Crawford family and consider signing up to take a meal at the Ministry Table.

Some of you are wondering where we are in our search for a youth pastor. I want you to know our committee has interviewed about 6-8 people. Some in person and some by phone. We are trying to narrow it down to the best candidate. We feel like we are getting some good prospects and ask that you continue to pray for the committee.

Coming to Westminster, MD on April 1o, 2010

Through her work with Voice of the Martyrs, mission representative, Darcie Gill, has been serving the persecuted family for over 10 years.  She has traveled extensively, sometimes with her husband Tim, throughout the eastern region of the US sharing the challenging yet encouraging message of the persecuted church.

Darcie has traveled to Sudan, China, Vietnam, Pakistan, Indonesia, Cuba, Myanmar, Laos, Kashmir, India, Korea, Columbia and the Middle East to bring help, encouragement and assistance to our family who live there.  She tenderly yet powerfully shares the challenging and inspiring testimonies of our family in these restricted nations.  Through God’s word, she shares what this should mean to us.  Although we refer to these believers as the suffering or persecuted church, Darcie communicates the rest of the story.  God is at work for His eternal purposes in the lives of our brothers and sister in these most difficult situations.

From last night’s business meeting discussion the following items were discussed and action is to take place.

[1] The new parking lot was discussed and everyone was in favor of the plan at the discussion meeting. The entire lot will be repaved and sink holes filled. 4 extra light poles will be installed and new landscaping done. This will be voted on this Sunday by the rest of the congregation on a ballot to be collected during some part of the service.

[2]A plan to remodel the children’s area and bring it up to date.

[3] There was a discussion on  upgrading the youth area as well and solutions are being sought by the youth council. These solutions are to be given to the EC and then acted on with monies allotted from the business meeting of March 28th.

There is a long range plan the EC has been working on. The above is phase 1

Phase 2 is for the years 2012-14 which includes a plan for the property as well as other things.

The youth council representatives at the meeting last night agreed to review the project 3 and  plan and provide recommendations for any additions.

As far as the 4+ acres we purchased in 2004  there has been no building on that land because of the high cost of construction, inflated real-estate values, and paying off of our present building. The old house was burned and destroyed because it was not safe and falling apart. Last year it was decided by the council to not pursue a pavilion because there is a brand new one across the street in the county park that we can use anytime we want. We did use it on two occasions for a picnic. In 2008 we had a financial crisis and we put all improvements on hold.

As far as searching for a new youth pastor, the church is still going through resumes and has had  several interviews by phone and in person. Please keep us in prayer as we serve in this area.

Phil Bosley went home to be with the Lord.  Please lift up in prayer, visit, send cards and offer meals to the Bosley family; Rose, Tina, Mark and many others.

Brenda Vellines had a stroke Sunday morning and is just now regaining some movement in her right side.  There is still no movement in her leg.  Please lift the Vellines family in your prayers.  Brenda is in Northwest Hospital.

We are so excited to tell you that baby Savannah will be coming home today!  Thank you for your prayers, support, meals and visits to Alan and Kelly.  Lets continue to support this family.

Today is the 4^th day without water in the Reisterstown, Owings Mills, Glyndon area. There seems to be the opinion among some media and county folk that this may be a 2 week ordeal. I have canceled tomorrows Wednesday night meal and if the water is not on tomorrow I will cancel Wednesday night services. My reason is that the spot-a-pots do not have lights in them. Be sure, we will have Sunday services.
